Gallopade has developed an exciting new editorial studio project system. This website is designed to make writers, artists, designers, editors, and others aware of the opportunities available.

A studio is an intense, ON-SITE total immersion in the writing of a book/series of books/or other educational products, based on a pre-done Master. Usually, preliminary information is provided, research is available, and a studio “wrangler” runs the studio so that all writing, editing, corrections, proofing, paste-up, and pre-press are handled in a rather vivid round-robin of activity!

We love the studio because it seems to appeal to the talented, dedicated, dependable writer. Most of our material is written at a fourth grade level, and absolutely must conform to the Carole Marsh style. During a studio there is a lot of hard work going on, but the synergy is fantastic as you get to ask question and get immediate feedback in real time.

If you think that I’m saying that at the end of the day (or days, week, month), we have “finished books” - that is correct!

Most bring their laptops and their lunches to our attractive Peachtree City office and come ready to rumble! We usually spring for the afternoon “chocolate fix” and often celebrate the end of a studio project with wine and cheese.

We generally pay by the project, and we only care to have talented, dependable, energetic, motivated, capable writers and other talent participate who can keep up with the project till the end. Therefore, we try to develop a strong, ongoing relationship with writers who fall in this category since we have not only ongoing studios, but also some regular off-site work that we try to offer to this type of dedicated talent.

This is real work. It’s fun, but it’s also intense, and we have to get it right, check our egos at the door, “be” Carole Marsh, adapt as required, and stick it out to the end.
